Learning Solution: Scenario-based Game
The Challenge
A restaurant chain identified a need to address bullying and harassment in their training program.
The goal was to encourage a positive workplace where both employees and customers could feel comfortable being themselves.
The key issues to be addressed were jokes between staff and comments about racial stereotypes. Also key was the addressing of “micro-aggressions“.
The client specifically wanted something designed that was consistent with their brand.
The Solution
A scenario was designed to encourage and empower staff to take action and call out undesirable behavior.
The game assessed staff’s decision making processes which lead into the use of consequential feedback. This will allowed the user to see how their decisions play out.
For further support, a a virtual commitment board was created where staff could post their commitment to creating a positive workplace.
The Results
Great feedback from both learners and management.
I was contracted to develop further learning modules incorporating the same theme, tones, and graphics.
